Griffith U3A classes are conducted in the Senior Citizens’ Centre, 47 Canal Street, Griffith NSW 2680 with carpark access from Yambil Street and Canal Street.
Classes, discussion groups, and activities are varied depending on the members interests and tutor’s availability. There are 4 terms 10 weeks duration each year in line with school terms.
A course list is posted on the noticeboard in the meeting room and in the newsletter, which is printed and emailed each term. Griffith U3A follows every class with morning or afternoon tea to enhance the social aspects of U3A as well as arranging one or two excursions a year. Course Leaders provide their time and services free of charge. So this allows us to keep our fees to a minimum. An annual membership fee entitles members to attend as many activities and classes as you choose.
Griffith is a vibrant multicultural city with a population of about 27,000. The city is situated in the Riverina in the heart of Australia’s largest rice and grape growing areas. The area is also famous for its wine making with some of the world’s well-known wineries found in and around the town. Griffith has an abundance of fine restaurants, sporting facilities, clubs, shopping, educational and social facilities. The town is justifiably proud of its large public library, regional art gallery and regional theatre. Griffith also has ample casual/part time and permanent employment opportunities in a range of industries and professions.
